Manchester Barbecue Pellets Jamaican Jerk Chicken Recipe

Check out this awesome recipe that allows you to make Jamaican jerk chicken right at home,  without pimento wood. By using a few additional spices to the marinade, you can replicate the flavor of pimento wood and bring your jerk chicken to a new level! 

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons ground allspice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the vegetable oil, soy sauce, vinegar, orange juice, brown sugar, thyme, allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, garlic, and onion. Mix well to create the marinade.

  2. Place the chicken in a large resealable plastic bag and pour in the marinade. Seal the bag and massage the marinade into the chicken until all pieces are coated. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

  3. Preheat your pellet grill to 250°F using Manchester Barbecue Pellets. Once the grill has reached the desired temperature, remove the chicken from the marinade and season with salt and pepper.

  4. Place the chicken on the grill and cook for 1.5-2 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F. Turn the chicken every 30 minutes to ensure even cooking.

  5. Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy your Manchester Barbecue Pellets Jamaican Jerk chicken with your favorite side dishes.

Note: This recipe serves 4-6 people and can be adjusted to fit your needs. If you prefer a milder flavor, you can reduce the amount of spices used in the marinade. Also, remember to keep an eye on the grill temperature throughout the cooking process to maintain a consistent temperature.
